No mystery number. Here is how it works.
The result is a practical starting range—not a claim that one universal formula can replace an individual board’s specifications.
Weight baseline
A bounded reference table establishes the neutral length. Weight leads because it directly affects board flex and support.
Rider adjustments
Ability and strongly weighted terrain choices move the centre modestly. Height performs only a small proportion check.
Width check
Boot size produces an approximate waist-width band. The final choice must account for boot outsole and binding angles.
Manufacturer check
The output is compared with current published ranges. The exact model chart always wins when it disagrees.
Manufacturer reference set
Representative sizes from 15 brands are used to sense-check the model across conventional all-mountain and freestyle boards.
These references are not live inventory, endorsements or paid placements. Specialist powder, volume-shifted, split and unusually shaped boards may follow different sizing conventions.
